2.5 ohm IC igniter style coils was created by wiredgeorge
I have two sets of the newer IC Igniter sytle coils. Both sets have primary impedence of about 2.5 ohms. This style coil has a screw type wire stud which allows you to change ignition wires. I can't find any resistance on any of the four coils across the screw terminals (secondary windings). I set my meter to 20k ohms and nada... Any ideas these coils don't check out on the secondary windings?

I have had a problem getting a good contact with the meter probes, I usually have to scratch them around to get through the corrosion.

Both sets have sharp tack like deals set in the coils for contact and there seems to be a bit of thread on these sharp tack things to hold the wire. They didn't appear corroded...

I have not disassembled one of those coils to find out why, but I have had no luck at all trying to measure resistance using that threaded tip, I always have to go down to the bottom at the base to get anything.
Seems kind of strange don't it :)

Yeah... I suspect the coils may be OK as one set for sure came off a running bike (other set was an ebay extra that came with some other stuff). I will give that a try... You would think those prongs in the middle that stick into the wire part of the plugwire would have resistance.
