1982 gpz 550. cleaned carbs. new plugs,wires,caps.starts and runs good at low speeds.falls on its but when opened up.55mph top speed.only 7000 miles.when k-n air filters are off bike i can rev it up and carb slides do not move up and down.need advice. thanks.

Sounds like your cable may be binding? Or if you had the carbs apart maybe you missed something in the reassembly,preventing the carb slides from opening?
76 KZ, frame gusset work,1200CC.Ported by Larry Cavanaugh, 1.5mm.over intakes, Carron Pipe, ZRX12 rear end, and seat,96zx9 front end.
