Thanks. I will check it out when I get home. Is it possible to put the wrong type pilot jet in these carbs. I'm starting to think thay may have been the problem with the stripping of the pilot hole threads.

Mystery solved I hope. 2170 is stamped on the carbs, so they are the 1975 version. The guy I bought the bike from must have installed the wrong jets for some reason. I'm sure that is why the pilot jets I have only caught a couple threads and eventually stripped.

Jeff if you read this I guess I need the jets you sent originally and I sent back(#17.5).
