Hello, I’m rebuilding a set of VM28MM carbs on an early Z1900. The felt washer seals on the throttle linkage are worn. This part seals against the upper carb body where the shaft penetrates through the body. I would like to know if these seals are available from any source or if some other material/part that can be used for a suitable replacement. Thanks for any assistance

mine came apart in pieces when i took them apart.
i put it back together without these. that was 2 yrs. ago. i think they help maintain lube at the pivot points.

Thanks for your fast reply. That's what I thought was the purpose for the felt rings, but wasn't sure. With that said, I have some absorbent cotton/wool material laying around that to cut out and soak out with some modern lubes.

The felt rings are not available anymore. These rings are not used on later VM series carbs so I don't use them, if they are gone or worn out, when I rebuild Z1 carbs. You might want to put some grease on the pivot points on the throttle shaft although too much just accumulates crud. I grease the shafts on rebuilds and then take a paper towel and wipe them off. This leave a coating but not too much.
