Hey what brand do you recommend for air intake pods? I'm getting a range of prices is there a quality difference? Reusable or non? As well what else should I know when I switch over as far as other parts and settings?

K&N anything else IS a waste of money. And some even limit airflow:ohmy:
Just my two cents worth. But folks on here will tell you what they think;)

Uni foam > K&N for filtration, about equal in airflow and much cheaper, plus if they get wet, they can be squeezed dry.

Uni's are also cleanable and reusable.

I suggest you put your bike year/model and location in your signature. It would make answers a bit more specific. Are you talking about motorcycle air filters or filters for a tractor? If you are talking motorcycle air filters, there are essentially three manufacturers.

1. Emgo
2. K&N
3. UNI

Emgo filters have non-cleanable/non-reoilable paper filters. View them as disposable. If you ride 1000 miles per year, these are a good buy as they will last you a number of years. If you want the longest lasting, K&N pod filters come with a life time warranty but you can buy a BUNCH of sets of Emgo filters for same price as one set of K&N filters. The K&N filters can be cleaned and reoiled. Last are UNI filters. These cost MUCH less than K&N filters and can be cleaned and reoiled but are foam and won't last forever... a few years perhaps. So the choice on which to buy depends on how much your ride and your budget. www.z1enterprises.com sells both Emgo and K&N. JCWhitney sells UNI. If I had some idea what bike you were asking about, I would tell you what size was needed.

I added my sig now so you have a better idea. I bought the bike as a 79 and its serial # turned out to be a 78 1000B2 not sure if there is a difference.

if the title matches the frame numbers it could be an early 79ltd built in late 78.

i've read about minor problems with air pods, like surging on the highway in a cross wind.

but i was reading the honda sohc forum recently where someone said his bike actually stalled on the highway during a rain storm, cause the air pods got water logged.

anyone had any major problems using air pods?

Is any of that true about hte pods? I live in Alberta and high winds are common on the hiway, as well if the can get rain clogged on trips that blows. I want to use this as a daily driver, and maybe some road trips.
