RS36 Cracked Brass Tube was created by Mikaw
First experience with the RS series carbs so looking for advice. They were nice when the arrived but not knowing the internals I pulled them apart. Found large jets and needle raised all the way. Decided to go through them completely and also return to factory specifications. Broke them down to individuals and throughly cleaned, reganged them and waited on the refresh kit MK-Rs34-40 to arrive. Dumb move but keep everything safe. During re-reassembly I noticed a crack in a brass tube (see yellow arrow). Not being familiar with these is this a problem and do I need to fix it and how?

Enricher pick up tube same as the vm series. Just solder the crack.

I'd replace the tube.  Clay (Asphalt) pulls those as a matter of course when cleaning carbs.  You might want to reach out to him to see if he has a spare.

I contemplated pulling them out because they were heavily gummed up with a varnish, black tar looking stuff. I used propane heat and and carb spray and it appeared to clear them out. I’ll look into size, if they are the same diameter as the VM’s I know I’d have some donor parts somewhere. Thanks.
