hi i have a spare set of z1r 28 mm carbs and what do the float bowl numbers   mean they are 35 and 45 yet are the same thanks

What numbers are you referring to?  Can you post a photo?

What I do know is that VM carbs like yours will have two pairs of float bowls, one with the drain outlet pointing right, and the others pointing left.

I have seen numbers cast inside and on the bottom of the bolt on VM carbs. If I remember correctly like #2’s and 3’s. I don’t recall anything 35 or 45. I could not find and correlation to the numbers I have seen number 2’s on rights and number 2’s on lefts. As mentioned photos will help

yes these are the carbs sorry the one upside down is 35 the other is 45 thanks

Hi Ed, I'm looking for just  1  OEM  28 mm,  1973  bowl 17mm  drain cap for #1 carb the (dyno charge side)
Yes that make sense 2 sides each part # Just like exhaust collars have 2 each.

I just checked a set of VM28 pumpers I have here, and they have very poorly stamped "40" on them.  Maybe they are some sort of batch number used internally at the Mikuni factory?
