Push and Pull throttle cables

Front cable pulls the throttle open lifting the shaft rotor mech and stretches the return spring.
Back cable "pushes" the throttle closed. In actuality it doesn't push anything but allows you to pull the throttle closed by hand movement should the "open" cable break and the return spring is missing.
Bit overkill but a fail safe.

The angle at the head absolutely HAS to be different. So 2 different cables ARE required.
The acute angled one screws  in first. The obtuse angled one screws in second.
The obtuse angle allows you to screw it in without hitting the accute angled one you first fitted otherwise you'd only get half a turn on the thread before hitting the accute angled one.

Warren 3200 GT.  Thank you for your explanation, your time and follow up.  I appreciate it.
Would it be possible to rotate and thread both of the exact same cables simutaneously to avoid hitting each other ?  In tandem, yes ?
I am not the original owner of this bike,  Ironically, I am now realizing that I may have 2 of the same cables on my throttle.
The bend angles look identical.
Edit Update -  I just now rcvd this email reply from MotionPro;
Hello ,
Thanks for contacting Motion Pro. For your application the throttle pull and push cable are the same, and part# 03-0019 can be used for both sides. You can view this cable and everything we currently offer for your model here: www.motionpro.com/c/catalog?v=644

Looking at your picture you appear to have two obtuse angle cables. Having not ever had that I can't say if they would both screw in or not.
I assume Z1e/ motion pro have sold loads of these cables and would have had feedback if they wouldn't screw in. If they supplied two accute cables they definately wouldn't fit.
All I know is both kawasaki originally and zpower in the uk (where I am) both fitted/supply two cables, each with a different angle, for the reason I posted.

I assume z1e/motion pro would take returns if there was an issue?

Here's a new set of throttle cables from Z1 Parts. Both cables have the same 90° ends on them.

That's way more than a 90 deg angle, maybe 120 - 130 deg. So z1e supply you two obtuse angle cables which means they must be OK fit.

I was in the same camp as Warren, TILL, I pulled some shelf parts down and started looking. I had always assumed there was two different angles on the hard pipe elbow, one reason I thought that was, the manual tells you to install the Accelerator (front) cable first. I again thought it was due to angle. Turns out with OEM the hard pipe elbows are the same angle, different though, in that one has a sharper/tighter bend, and are different in length also. On the OEM RH control the threaded bosses that receive the elbows and different heights. It’s this little difference that allow you to easily screw in the elbows.

The Emgo pattern RH control has the cable bosses the same height.

Kelly E, I like to know how you installed the cables. In theory one would hit the other.

78kawltd, There are two different cables required for the 78B2. See previous post showing the two part numbers. Motion Pro is wrong.

Thanks kzriders.  We'll assume the PO installed my bike with Motion Pro aftermarket items. They sure look like the MP match.
Now wondering how did my PO install the matching cables  - and also wondering what was KellyE's special method to complete the Z1E matching throttle cables install.

I can't remember too well since it was already happy hour but I think I had to turn the first bend I installed away from the second one while installing the second cable.
I do remember that I had to swap the cables because the first time I couldn't get the excess slack out of one of the cables.

I'll plan to reach back to the Cable Account Rep at Motion Pro and communicate the new discovery.
He / they may offer some addtl. insight on the install of :   2 obtuse angled Pull throttle cables at Motion Pro

Sometimes, the end users have the hands on detail -and what really works best.
I appreciate your help, folks.

I've never seen push in the diagrams, only pull for opening. The 78 B1 Ltd diagram doesn't say push, it says throttle control "For closing"; and it says pull throttle cable for opening. The cables for my motorcycle & a number of others are listed as Open & Close. The original Z1s plus a few others are listed as Control cables. The 74 KZ400 are listed as For closing & For opening.  Push probably came about because it's opposite from pull, but carburetors ain't doors. hee.
