@rstnick, do you mind sharing a link to Pablo's tutorial?
I couldn't find stock carbs for the ZN700, so I got a set of Keihin CVK from a 1985 ZL750 Kawasaki Eliminator, getting them ready to install on my ZN700.

Did you join the 650 site I linked earlier?  The linked thread has tons of useful info about putting CKV carbs on your bike.

So, I finally got the carbs ready to install and now the bike won't crank.

Checked all the fuses, they are good, there is power when I turn the key, but nothing happens when I press the run switch (checked the switch with a multimeter as well and it's good). Also checked the starter relay and that's good as well, when I apply 12V from the battery to the two contacts on the relay, the bike cranks.

I am suspecting the IC igniter, can that cause this issue?

Any ideas what to check next?

No, not the IC igniter but the side stand or clutch leveler safety switch if the engine is not in neutral.

It is in neutral and it's on the center stand with the side stand up.

The switches can malfunction. It would be worth a minute or two to check them. Also check the Run Off Run switch for proper function. If they check out, then a careful, systematic check of the entire starter circuit is in order.
There is an excellent tutorial in the articles section of KZR.

Well, I was about 93.8% sure that Wookie58 had posted a diagnostic tutorial in the Articles section, but I’ll be hanged if I can find it. I guess I need a tutorial on finding tutorials
