I am on the hunt for a new petcock for my KZ 750 H2 and I found this on ebay: Petcock
Anybody ever tried a petcock from this seller ?
It's cheaper than the Pingel everyone seem to recommend and doesn't need any adaptor plate so I am tempted.

I've had 50/50 results with offbrand petcocks; a couple worked no problem, a couple leaked like sieves. I think the simpler the design the more likely to work, so I'd avoid the vacuum operation unless you pay for OEM.

That being said, you may be able to find compatible petcocks from other brands/models that are less expensive for a genuine part.

be sure to verify the bolt hole spacing. center-to-center. some are 44mm. others 34mm or something like that.
just an fyi.  I believe a late model KZ1000P police petcock is 44mm. not sure. still available but these have gotten expensive.

Tour Master brand is vacuum operated and 44mm spacing, "Made in Japan" - That is the key, make sure you can buy a rebuild kit for it.

I just got an aftermrket manual petcock delivered to my mailbox for less than $15 for my '82 KZ750ltd. 34mm spacing. I prefer manual PC due to I want flow when I turn it on and not depend on a vacuum signal and I can turn it off at the end of the ride. ebay was my friend.

I don't have a plan and I'm sticken' to it! '77 KZ 650 / 750 GPz custom project in progress

When you receive it make sure you open it up to clean out any excess casting flash. I ordered an "upgraded quality" manual petcock from a seller on eBay, for cheap. It had a nice big brass 9(?)mm outlet that I was looking for. When I received it it seemed half the weight of the factory petcock so I opened it up and was stunned to see O-rings made from I don't know what, once stretched they didn't want to go back to their original shape, like taffy, and tiny internal fuel passages and was so cheesey in construction that I could see it leaking the instant gasoline touched it.  I immediately threw it in the trash and ordered a rebuild kit for my factory unit.
You pays your money and you take your chances.
Mine was made in China. Lesson learned for $23 bucks.

Yes, I believe K&L just rebrand them. The important thing is they have a rebuild kit listed for this model. I like it because its smaller than the Kawasaki unit so if your trying different carbs there is more room to work  with.
