Carb bowl orings was created by kzcody
Hi everyone,

So I have a pair of CV36 keihins on my 440 ltd and I need to replace the orings on the bowls. I have a couple questions. The first is does anyone know a place where I can get a pair of orings for a good price. I looked at the ones on Bikebandit and they were around 11 bucks a piece! And then secondly when I put them on, do I use any type of sealent? A friend told me to not use a sealent because bits of it might break off and clog the jets, which makes sense. I just want to make sure. Any help would be awesome, thanks,

Cody

You can get them for $3.95 here:
www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/bowl_gaskets.htm

If you put a small drop of fuel resistant glue in each corner of the flot bowl, in the groove, before you put in the o-ring, it is ok. And sometimes you have to do that to be able to keep the o-ring in place.

I suspect Z1enterprises.com sells the orings. I use a drop of superglue in each corner as the new orings will not be shaped to fit and don't want to stay in place otherwise.

I only found the complete rebuild kits listed for the 440 on Jeffs site. And since the question asked was about the bowl o-ring only........

But if Jeff have got the o-rings, he is a very nice guy to buy parts from.

It is possible to buy just the o-rings and float needle separately from www.z1enterprises.com . These parts are not listed on the web site separately but they are available.

you may be able to buy O-ring material and make your own.
I used to buy from Georgia Rubber back when I was building instruments

Or you could cut a larger stock O-ring down to size. Use a razor, lay the ends side by side and cut about 60 degree diagonal.
Put it together with a drop of superglue. Works great.
