Vacuum Petcock KZ550 was created by sumowilkie
Hi all,
Removed old petcock and "stupidly" threw it away as it was leaking from a rotating outlet that had a small o ring failure.
Im having trouble getting an original vacumm petcock for a kz550 1985. I cant fit a normal (ebay) amazon etc as the outlet doesnt move/rotate and sits on the choke mechanism.
This a custom bike, so unsure if the original had a rotating petcock.
Any info or help would amazing as im starting to develop quite a collection now...
regards martin

What's the bolt-hole spacing on the fuel tank? center-to-center.

It's probably either 44mm or 38 mm. ... 44mm = 1.75". ... 38mm = 1.5".

ps: you don't have to use a vacuum petcock. some prefer manual. I prefer the stock vac type.

For a manual fuel valve search EB for Yamaha Raptor fuel cock. also Yamaha Grizzly. I'm pretty sure they're 38mm but verify before buying anything. They come in various types/styles/shapes: some are more squat than others which should minimize contact w the carburetors. If you go this route, I would get oem made in Japan >> you should be able to find one in the $20 range. That's pretty cheap for made in Japan.
