Has anyone purchased a fuel gauge gas cap? Thoughts?

I am looking at purchasing an aftermarket fuel gauge gas cap on my '79 KZ650.

Has anyone used these before and any pro's or con's?

Thanks.

Hi ninja 1195, i bought mine in 1986 and is still in use, it is not exacly measuring whit a full tank but it helps on longer trips on highways . The last quarter is pretty accurat but thats depends also how you fine tuned the float. I also like the vieuw on my Z and it is also an original nippon product.

I installed such QSPS gas cap on KZ650 tank (used  KZ tank for Yamaha project) in 2014. No issues with it so far.

Have had one on my 900 since 2012 and it works great, as mentioned according to setup. This past year I noticed some yellowing in the lens and spider cracks but I was able to purchase a new lens from them. Mine was an original also but the cap had totally discoloured however the internals were mint. I bought one on the off chance the lens from a copy would fit and it did. Now I have a spare internal mechanism and float as well as back lens that was $8. Allgood.

look on Ebay and you will find them. I bought from QSPS Paulin and that is who I contacted for the replacement lenses, very nice people to deal with. They tend to sell around $100 and a bit more for the key locking type.
Have fun with them as they develop a lot of questioning when out for a ride.

Yes they do look good, can you hear the float rattling against the tank though?

I don't hear it when riding. Sometimes jockeying the bike around in a parking lot when not running and a half a tank of fuel it will make a bit of noise.
