Float levels and again

Hi all
Just setting float levels, replaced float valves ect, carbs cleaned all jets clear, set floats (dry) 25mm (without gasket) and then checked (wet)
as per manual, all need tweaking, 2 of the fuel float tangs needed quite a bit of adjustment to the point of slowing the fuel, compered to the other two even though they all arrived at the level spec, doesn't look right and I'm not altogether happy, any views?

The float needle and seat are a matching set. Did you make sure to keep them together? Did you use original Mikuni Parts? Are the floats installed correct? Did you get all the same size float needle and seat size?

Hi yes all matched parts, floats fitted correctly ect.

I’m on my 4th set rebuild. I have had to bend the tang what I thought was excessive but never did it reduce flow. Something must be wrong.

Again without more info we can guess all day. Try posting some pictures

Do all the float valves have the fibre washer on them, also are the brass parts of the float all the same and not bent where they shouldn't be.

Will check condition of floats as it looks like they've been apart a few times. ☹️

Checked floats, a couple of crooked ones, sorted it and went through levels again, all around 4mm below carb body fitted carbs bike would start, low fuel maybe, off they came and checked no 1 looks good will check the rest again, I'm going on the hayness spec.

That looks more like 6 mm to me. You should be measuring to the bottom of the miniscus, not the top.

This is a much better (and easier) method for checking fuel level.

Fuel level to low, the white line is at about 3mm, and the white line on the tube is where on the liquid you should reference from.

The only way to measure is with a ruler. Eyeball does not work. I learned that the hard way.
