Here is my dilema my plugs used to be really sooty and my bike was running sub par. I read about the coil mod but it was Sunday and all the stores were closed so I decided to take off the coils and clean every contact with my dremel tool and resolder every wire and it did make a big difference BUT my plugs are still sooty....So I looked at the airscrews and they are three turns out.

Does this seem a bit too many turns out, but if you were to screw them in say 1.5 turns would that foul the plugs even more..assuming it is a carb related problem??

1.5 - 2 seems to work on mine three seems a bit much. I don't know there is a carb guy on here I think:laugh:

As for you sooty plugs brother mine look like they come down the chimney on xmas eve I have yet to find the source maybe electrical or carbs:dry:

Peace

Yes, 1.5-2.0 should be fine for an all stock bike, but if you have a stage 1 or 3 jet kit, then it should call for 3.5 turns out.
