Hey!
I have the exact same issue with my '76 400D petcock. Was Just wondering how your petcock has been holding up since your fixes and if there was anyway you could post a link to the parts you ordered? did you have to take the entire petcock off the bike?
Much love!

If you don't get an answer, here's a link for a 69 CB750 model plus the KZ400-D3.
The 400 rebuild stuff is listed on EB, but the 4-hole gasket is pricy. search the part numbers.

Repro petcocks are popping up on the bay. I have not tried one but it could be a solution
eBay - D3 Repro petcock

edit: heck, for $18.00 I purchased one JIC

I have tried re-pop, OEM and kits. Nothing was reliable. After going through that the last time, I went to Pingel. I'm tired of leaking gas @ $4 a gallon, or more and not being able to ride because of it.

Expensive, yes. Worth every penny? Absolutely

Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

I've had good luck rebuilding the stock petcocks. I use this method from the XS650 guys: XS650 Petcock rebuild .
A pingel would work also but since the KZ400s are not appreciated as much as their larger brethern, it's easy to get upside down (ask me how I know LOL).
