WG, need some advice.. was created by Draco
WG,(or whomever else wishes to chime in)
I am trying to get some answers for a buddy of mine.
He has a 79 KZ750 twin with straight drag pipes (small baffle towards the end) and foam pods. Engine is stock otherwise. I am assuming that he will need to re-jet with all the extra air moving in and out now. Do you have any suggestions on what size jets we should try?
Thank you in advance!B)

I suggest checking the plugs to verify that it is indeed running to lean, assuming things just leads to wasting money :)

Josh, with that set up, probably going to #135 main jets and the next size up pilot jets would work... perhaps two size up on the pilot jets. The stock mains are about #115 and I can't recall the pilot sizes. If the bike doesn't pull well all the way to the top, go up to #140 mains.

Thanks for the info WG. I'll pass it on to him, and we'll go from there. Where is a decent place to get the replacement jets? Do you have a ballpark figure as to what they should cost?
Thanks again.B)
