Carb rebuild was created by Nitwit
Hi all,
I have a 1981 KZ 550 ltd. I'm quite sure I need the carbs rebuilt - a good cleaning for sure. I'm not up to the job myself - how much should I expect to pay at the local Kawasaki dealership to have the carbs rebuilt, adjusted, and anything else that will make them work right.
Any guesses would be appreciated.
P.S. I would send them to Wiredgeorge but I don't think I could even take them off and put them back on myself.

Taking them off and putting them on is a no brainer. Do you have a book? If not you should get one. The price you pay for the book will be nothing compaired to the money you will save having George do your carbs. BTW put you location in your signature line and maybe someone lives close enough to you to come and help.

I have a manual but I don't think I have the tools (or the skill) to get at the bolts that hold the carbs to the engine.
Thanks for the reply.
