Hello, I bought an 82 KZ 750 CSR Twin a month ago and started to do some upgrades to it. I put a 2 into 1 MAC setup on and bought K&N Air filter pods. I have not had a chance to run it yet cause the gas tank is being painted but can anyone tell me if I need to put a air filter on the crankcase breather? And what do I do with the Vacuum switch valve opening that goes into the existing air box? Any help would be great, thanks.

I can't help you with the vaccum thingy, but yes you should put a breather filter on. Or something. Or at least run the hose down the back of the engine to the side (away from the tire).... The filter *might* get clogged over time, so watch it!

IIRC, there is one hose going to each side of the cam cover, so you can just run a hose from one side to the other to connect them together.

On my 82 750 twin, are you sure, or are you saying to conect the Vacuum Switch hose to the crankcase breather?

Im not sure I follow what you are saying can work. Are you saying to connect the two hoses together and get rid of the vacuum switch? Im not following.

do not connect the vacuum switch hose to the crankcase breather. some people put a little pod filter on the crankcase breather to keep dirt from entering it.

he is saying run a hose from one cam cover nipple to the other, connecting them thus pluggining up those holes. My cam cover nipples have rubber caps on each of them instead of a connecting hose.

basically when you take off the big hose to the airbox and the two hoses that go to the cam covers, you have to plug up the holes you left in the cam cover plates. make sure it is an airtight seal or you can get a lean condition and backfiring.

thanks for the clarification, i get it now. so dod you just leave the vacuum switch alone, and let it hang there and it will be fine?

I'm not sure what you mean. if you are removing the tubes from the cam cover and the large tube that goes into the airbox, what is the vacuum switch going to be connected to?

The trashcan, or maybe a box containing parts that you have no intention of ever using again, but you save it "just in case" until it ends up getting thrown in the trash?? :)
