Well in this setting the home team usually scores! Sorry I couldn't help it. It's Petcock. Yep! Looks like a joke and sounds like a joke but it is Petcock.
There are 2 kinds and both have 3 settings. A gravity feed petcock has a on...off....reserve. To run motorcycle have it in the on position. When bike is not running have it on off and when you are running with it on the on position and it runs out of gas change it to reserve and get thee to a gas station.
A vacume petcock has reserve, on and prime. You don't have an off because a vacume line runs to the petcock and stops the fuel when the bike is not running. The prime is for when your carb bowls are dry. It is a free flow and should not be used after the bike is running smoothly. Hope that helps.

Here is the pepcock in the above position!

Just having a little fun with ya.... :woohoo:  :woohoo:

I think all manuals should be written like this. At least more of them would be read!

Sorry Richie! Come on back and eyepoke all of us! (We know the block) Nyk Nyk Nyk! My fault, I started it.....but If I didn't let it out I would embelomomize! Nevan is that a word? Should be! :silly:
