Installing pods

On a 1978 kz1000A do the carbs have to be removed to install pod air filters? The stock air box does not look like it has enough room to come out.

Yes........pull the rubbers off just behind the carbs, pop the carbs off and the airbox slides out.

Don't forget to keep all of the stock airbox parts in case you want to switch back to the stock air intake system-Cheers-Colin Firth

On my kz400, the box wouldn't come out without removing the engine, which I didn't do.
