Kz750 tee fittings

My Kz750 carbs have these tee fittings between carbs 1&2, 2&3, 3&4. The tee fitting between 2&3 has my fuel line connecting too it, but the tee fittings between carbs 1&2 and 3&4 have no hoses connecting to them. I've tried plugging them up but the engine wouldn't rev up and idled very ruff and eventually died when they were plugged. So my question is what should I do with these tee fittings, where do they get routed to?

they would have vent hoses to the airbox
