Anyone have a parts blow up of the CV carbs for a 1985 ZN700A2 I have one that had been sitting for 16 years and was completely varnished. Got it all apart but ruined a couple jets in the process. All stock and getting cleaned up.

Try www.kawasaki.com/product_home.asp
Click on Owner Info, Parts Diagrams and select year, cc etc. I had a quick look and can see a 1985 ZN700 A1 or A2 listed. Is this the same as a KN ?

Good luck

Yep ZN700 A2 I got that far too but need a veiw of the jets on the bottom. I'm looking for the jet farthest from the float valve seat. I buggered these up getting them out. they had been sitting with gas in them for 16+ years. OUCH! I also need to know the stock size of this jet. Any help? Thanks!

From the diagrams these carbs look very like my Keihins. I would think that the jet furthest from the float needle seat would be part # 92063E

If it's the slotted jet that screws into the main nozzle (smaller of the two "bleed" pipes that have holes drilled in the sides), then that is the primary main jet and should be a #68.
The other (slightly smaller in size/shape) jet behind that one (closer to the float valve seat) is the secondary main jet, and should be a #92.

I already have the carbs installed on my '84 ZN700 and don't plan on yanking them off again, especially just to take some pics. But I can drop the float bowl from the #1 or #4 carb and see if I can get a decent pic for you tomorrow if you want. :)

Thanks for all the help & input guys. I found a decent parts diagram & your right; #68 jet. I have one on order. the rest were OK. I dipped the carbs in my parts washer for 4 straight days to get them cleaned and soaked the jets and small parts in MEK for 2. Cleaning up well and other parts are coming UPS so I will start getting it back together next week. I have to call around to find a LR turn signal but that should be easy in comparison to 16+ year old varnish. Thanks again!

You removed all the rubber o-rings before dunking them, right?
Some of those parts cleaners are a slow death to rubber carb parts. :pinch:
Also be certain to blow out all the carb passages and jets with compressed air.
I had to remove my carbs 3 times because I neglected to thoroughly blow the gunk out of the passages and it was causing it to run lean.

The part# for the rear signal (same # for left or right) is 23037-1208, and fits the following models: 85~90 EN450 (454 LTD), 84~85 ZN700 LTD, and 84~85 ZN1100 LTD.

I see new aftermarket replacement signals listed on eBay frequently for about $20. That's less than half what the OEM signal costs.
