What size Carb/Fuel/Air hoses (Pipe)?

Was getting ready to run down to the local auto parts store and see if they have the right type of tubing/rubber pipe/hose I need for fuel and carbs. I have the VM26 carbs on my 76LTD. Any idea what size (inner diameter) tubing I need to run from the petcock to the fuel inlets on the carbs? Any knowledge of what lengths are good for the air vent pipe, fuel pipe and carb drain pipes? Like I should be running a t-spltter (or y-split) from the petcock directing gas flow to two fuel inlets on the carbs? Is this correct? I know these are dumb and obvious questions but....Any quick lesson on this would be appreciated! Thanks.

I wanna say 1/4" I.D......but wait til ya hear from others, as I might (its happened before!!) be wrong.....
OR.....take petcock with ya and eliminate all guess-work.

Skipper...you only have one outlet coming from the petcock?
Anyway...Ya...the fuel line should be 1/4 inch(not 5/16).
The overflow hose size,I believe it's 1/8 I.D.
I woul dhave though tfor sure that You would have 2 outlets coming from the petcock...hmmm.:huh:

For my 650 I use 1/4 inch black rubber from my tank to carbs, the overflows I use clear. You can get a chunk of it cut off a roll of bulk fuel line in most farm/hardware/auto part outfits. I would include an inline fuel filter in the set up, only costs a few bucks. My overflows are smaller than the main fuel T. Bring your old hoses, or take the rack if it's off. Doesn't much matter anyway, the stuff is cheap as dirt. If you get it wrong your only out a few bucks.

Thanks guys. I'll take the petcock in with me. I'll be looking for 1/4 and 1/8". Don't have the old hoses. They are long ago thrown out. Can't take the carbs in with me, cause they're already mounted. Not using a stock petcock Sandy. I picked up a really nice chrome Petcock from Z1. Only 1 outlet and splitting from the one using a y-splitter. Jeff @ Z1 advised me on this set-up if I didn't want to go stock with the petcock. Got an in-line fuel filter too. Was more curious how far down the air vent hoses and drain hoses should go. Do the carb air vent hoses need to be plugged or open? That sort of stuff.

Try routing the drain hoses together with zippy-ties, and running them down to the rear of the centerstand mount. Having them tied together only gives one leak puddle instead of 4!!!!

FWIW.....I recommend CLEAR fuel supply lines.....you can see at a glance if fuel is flowing. Just a thought.

Ya...Skipper...clear fuel line IS better...for that reason alone.Yes,You DO have to replace it more often(because it hardens)but for as cheap as it is?...use the clear line.(My opinion):whistle:
