air screw in or out?

Depends on the carbs you have. If you do have the carb type with an actual "air screw" adjustment these are typically on the sides of the carb bodies. They work just like a faucet to adjust the amount of air in the idle circuit. Open or close. In or clockwise to richen (reduce air in mixture) - out or counterclockwise to lean (add more air to mixture).

My plugs are still black, even after the WG coil mod. Should I try raising the clip on the needles in the carbs to lower them and lean out the mixture?
