Well, I have been fighting with the floats not be right since I have revitalized my bike. I was wondering what is the correct setting for the floats doing the dry method and the correct way to actually do this? The manual I have only tells me about the wet way. Any help would be great!:)

I've never seen a setting or figure for a dry method for the CV34s, only the wet way.
I would be interested also if a method is available.

I found this dry method of adjusting the float level in my clymer manuel for my kz 650. The settings should be fairly the same for yours I would think.

1. Place carbs on work bench with float bowls facing up.
2. Remove the screws securing one of the float bowls to the main body and remove it and it’s gasket.
3. Measure the distance from the float bowl mating surface of the carb body to the top of the float.
1981 650 should be 7/8” or 23 mm. 1982 and on should be .73” or 18.6 mm
4. To adjust height remove float from carb body and slightly bend the tab that holds the float valve needle up or down to adjust.
5. Reinstall float and re-measure float height. Repeat step 4 until desired height.

Good luck
