Picked up a fairly respectible set of 28's recently on the big E. I think they are from a '75 900. In the middle of stripping them to the bone right now and Plan to us them on my '76 900, 1015 block honed to 70.25mm (1035?).

Question...what is the purpose of the two very thin s/s 1" long double washer thing that seems to attach the #1&#2 and #3&#4 carbs together, just under the syc adjusted screws?

My two appear to have a factory applied "double bend in each one?

Any input would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

They are there to help tie the pairs together and assist with synchronization - they do tend to get bent and twisted

those things got bent up on my two pair. straightened them up best i could...seem to work ok.

Yup, That's them. Seem to be overkill? The individual carbs are rigidly connected to the same solid bar, why then impose these into the equation? Maybe because od the "sprung" syncro adjustment?

My two look like they're both bent in exactly the same places. Looks like factory applied bends.

I made my own out of some 1/8 7075 T6
Use a brand new one for a pattern.
It helps ALOT when it comes time to sync. them.

NOT stock , but they work great .
NO more bending and they stay in sync alot longer.

1974 Z1a, still 903
