In pieces!! At least that's how mine came apart. It was just press fit but must be very tight from the factory so it doesn't pull off. I have found some really nice threaded knobs, so am leaning toward trying to thread the rod. I have to take some measurements and see if I can match it up to an available knob thread size.

Also, I have now heard back from motorcyclecarbs.com, and they also say the the part is no longer available from Mikuni, not even as an assembly with the rod. What kind of dumb a$$ company quits making parts for one of their most popular types of carb?? I don't get it:huh:

The Kaw List:
Current: 79 KZ1000 A3 MKII, 78 KZ1000 A2, 78 KZ1000 Z1-R, 78 KZ650 SR, 80 KE175
Former: 03 KLX400SR, 99 ZRX1000, 82 KZ750 LTD, 80 KZ1000 A4 MKII, 80 KZ1000 LTD, 78 KZ1000 A2, 74 H-2 750 Triple, 78 KL250

why dont you pick up one of the threaded carb knobs, and a tube of JB weld? Lots of people get all huffy when you mention the stuff, but for this situation i think it would be just what you need.

just fill the threaded hole with epoxy, stick it on the end of the rod then wait for it to harden...
