This may be the research Terry was refering to:

www.shoclub.com/lubrication-oil/lubrication-oilpart1.htm

Fram does not do well in this VERY extensive (car) oil filter research, so I don't trust their other products. I use Russell fuel filters and K&N oil filters on my '77 KZ650C1. Ed

Go back to the fellow at NAPA and ask him again who makes NAPA Gold Filters. If he tells you anything other than Wix, you have my permission to Fire Him...

George does rebuild carbs over the mail. Contact him directly for questions of pricing, or check out the link in his signature. He won't reply publicly to a question like that because of the forum rules against it:

No member is allowed to refer to their own business, or any business to which he/she is associated, through the discussion forum or personal messaging system

He's a good guy and has a reputation for doing quality work. Send him an email (lesho -- at -- bigfoot.com) or check out his eBay page via the link in his signature. When you contact him, mention what kind of bike you have.

And while you're at it, mention your bike in your signature line here. That goes for all of you!

I hope you are correct, because I am using a NAPA Gold now, on my car, and I was told it was a WIX. I was little concerned after the word that they may be Frams.

You can rest easy that NAPA filters are not Fram. They are definitely WIX.

I only use NAPA Gold filters in everything I own from my John Deere to my Jeeps.

In my carburetor business, I tune and road test sets that come through my shop. Last year that was about 350 sets of carburetors. I have two dedicated KZ900 test bikes and I suspect 1000 isn't too big an exageration as most sets are installed and removed several times in the process.

BTW: Businesses are prohibited from advertising on this site. If anyone wants to talk to me about carburetor sales, rebuilding or repairs, it would be more appropriate to drop me a note at the email address in my signature. I don't mind hearing from folks anywhere in the world!

Wix are goog filters. They use synthetic rubber instead of cheap nitril rubber. Go to oilfilterstudy.com for more info.
Fram filters are junk I try not to use them.

WG rules the carb world! Wish I had recorded my bike idling before he worked on the carbs and you should hear it idle now. Put put put put. You can count the cyl's.
