36 or 38 mm rs flatsides

im looking to get either a set of rs36 or rs38 flatslides which would you guys recomend the motor is a 1982 kz1000 with a set of yoshi cams they were the small ones but dont remember exact specs on them any help would be greatly appreciated

Displacement and intent (drag/WOT or streetability)?

38s are BIG. 36s can be too big without the displacement and mods. to back it up. Unless you have a lot more than stock displacement as well as head work, I would suggest 34s instead for a street-able bike.

38's for really really big motor 1250 cc up. 34 for really nicely done motor, 1015-1250 with other work, 29mm smoothbores rule for relatively stock motor or displacement.

I wouldn't go bigger than 34mm.
I have an ELR with 1100ccm,open Kerker race exhaust and 34mm Mikuni flatslides.
The bike runs perfect.

I would have to agree with all of the above recommendations, don't go any bigger than 34s.
