Welcome to KZR hydrolazer. A book I have states the 1977-78 KZ1000LTD came with VM26 Carbs and the 1977-80 KZ1000/MkII/E came with the same VM26 carbs, but it doesn't list for a 1979 KZ1000LTD.

VM26 w/accelerator pump... if you are trying to ID the carbs, look at the very bottom of the #2 carb bowl which contains the pump mechanism. It hangs down. The VM28 has NO cover over the very bottom where the VM26 will have a triangle shaped cover held on by three phillips head screws over the bottom. The 26 uses a two diaphragm pump where the 28 uses a single diaphragm... the 26 has a triangle shaped diaphragm over the bottom so the cover is needed but on the 28 it isn't.
