Knipex wrench info please! was created by Sheath
Hey guys, I've got the chance to buy two of these wrenches, a 10 inch one for £20 and a smaller one for £10 they look so good I don't even think they've been used, my question is. ...are we just looking at a different kind of crecent wrench here? Is it just used to get a quick and secure hold of a range of nut sizes or does it have any other use or advantages? Thanks :)

I've only heard good things about them. Don't own any, but would seriously consider them.

I have been using Knipex brand [strike]channel locks[/strike] slip-joint pliers exclusively for over 20 years. I'm a big fan.
Many years ago when I was younger, slimmer & stronger, I used 1 pair to do pull-ups with. They are that good. Buy with confidence.

Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

I'm sure Knipex makes high quality tools, but wouldn't it be better to use the correct size socket wrenches for loosening or tightening hexagonal fasteners? This seems especially true since a socket applies force to all 6 sides of a fastener rather than just 2 sides. Ed

Knipex are the best pliers iv ever owned, they dont flex when you're giving them the hand clamp, theyre just made well, ive had a pair in my tool belt for the past 15yrs or so, not the same as the ones youre talking about, but im sure they are the same quality. That being said i wouldn't touch a nut or bolt with a pair of pliers for fear my father would appear out of thin air and smack me in the back of the head with a wrench.
