This is how I do it.
www.kzrider.com/forum/2-engine/489872-ho...ved-my-engine#489872

I have refined my method over the years by removing the oil plug and adding protection for the frame, but it works real good for doing it by your self.

All great ideas guys.

But where are these lift threads using a hoist and bracket off the intake?
I'm sure more have seen these posts.

That's the way I did it the first time Blue J and it went in good..... not sure why I'm so worried about it this time.... maybe will use a combo of both ideas.

The K&L metric engine stand is the bomb for the money. No horsing the motor around on the ground. Worth every penny. R

I was really close to buying the metric stand but since I wasn't going to split the cases and I was going over budget I picked up a engine stand on sale and made up some brackets with threaded rods like shown on here some place...... worked great for spinning it around a half a dozen times to spray it out from the top and bottom getting it pretty much spotless inside.

Well I've found some info and pictures of the tool to lift an engine out.
I thought it was here I had seen it, but it seems not.
Sorry about the confusion.
Here are the pictures, and some info;
John, "This is an engine swap rig I fabbed this after one that an old time Kawi mechanic had made. I have yet to use it, but it worked slick when he did. Put a clevis in the top hole on the short piece, bolt the long section to the motor and use an engine hoist."

And AJ; "Built the hanger and used it today. Works like a dream. Put it up in there air and moved it out into the rocks so I could finish cleaning before painting. I could sit on a chair, twist it, didn't have to wrestle it around. Love it. I'll build one for each engine family I work on."
