Got the CNC up and running

So I have spent the last month on a diligent quest for machining knowledge and programs for running this CNC I got a little over a month ago. The programs I am running are Autodesk Inventor, Mastercam and Mach3. I have a video of the first part I successfully made on it. So stoked!

Its a cheap china made CNC called cnc3040t-dj. It was about 800 bucks from a US supplier off eBay. I'd say its pretty sweet for the price and perfect for my hobbyist needs.

A few mods need done such a stiffening the gantry, I have a new Toshiba controller as well as bigger NEMA 23 270oz inch stepper motors (I just have them laying around) to replace NEMA 17 44oz inch motors. With the motor and controller upgrade, I can beef up the gantry without worrying about weight as much. Flex isn't too big of an issue but with aluminum I'm sure it will be

I hooked up the probe last night so I'm going to be learning how to do that in the coming weeks as well.

Woah, He is doing all that work with a DIY cnc machine, he's good with that thing. This gives me some insight as to what my machine is capable of.

I have started my first project is continuing on with the 6 piston tokico brake conversion with wheel spacer to use the stock disk. I have the 3d model made. I'll put it in my build thread.

Edit: I just saw his milling machine haha

Hmmmm..... How about some aluminum, last for ever, valve cover gaskets? Make them the same thickness as the old oem gaskets. Coat both sides with three bond on installation??? Just a thought and you could make some extra cash.
