Mineral Spirits, AKA Stoddard Solvent, available at paint stores and hardware stores and even in one gallon cans at Wally World. Stuff evaporates and you have to keep adding more though.

price is great on the HF one but it's too small. gotta put my 1000 cases in it. The bigger one they have might be the way to go. I still like the homemade idea tho.

Mine was a dump ground special. 100 gal aux fuel tank with a one piece tub and suround sitting on top. Drain of tub sat right on top of the fill hole of tank. found 12 v. fuel pump supplied the transfer, and I used I think citrus solvent and water. You could fit a c-6 tranny in there whole.

add half gal. of h2o water to mineral sprits to keep it from evap. when not in use.

I made one from a 12 volt washer motor out of car windscreen cleaner.
1 x 12v transformer from old appliance.
couple of yards of clear tubing.
1 x s/steel wash tub from laundry...stand built in! cut some heavy mesh for bottom, so your not sitting parts in sludge, 1 x stiff nylon brush with the 'hose' cable tied to handle...
.. couple of old socks, 1 inside the next, under trap outlet for filter. replace when your missus buys you new socks! no...the old ones!!!
Then back into a gallon drum for storage/recirculation. cost about ummm...nothing.

next project... sand blasting cabinet for cheeps. Hmmmm.

i bought the one harbor frieght has listed for 99.00 i have had it for ten years and it has worked well.i bought ten gallns of mineral spirits and have never added anything to it.it seemed a little flimsy when i was screwing it together,but i have the lower shelf comepletly filled with banshee and 250r honda cylinders and it has not collapsed on itself yet :whistle: .the flex tube did quit the team a few years in.but i just used some blue fuel line and spun me out an aluminum nozzle for the end of the hose and never missed a beat.

my 1st glass beading cabinet i built was made from a combination of old stove /washing machine cabinet parts,its still in use in ashland ne! :laugh:

if u plan on painting parts after a wash with varsol or thinner. that stuff will leave a film. reclean them with clean alcohol or something so the paint will stick better.
