Got an email from Ricardo. He's got my custom blades made already :) and sent me pics of the seats he cut with them. What a great guy ;)

Here's a pic.

When I install larger valves, I sink them with a 30 to the installed height I want, then do the valve job. So I had a set made with 35/45/60 with the seat width I like.

Using a 75 on the bottom yields a nice 5 angle valve job.

While it's not nearly as fast as a blade cutter setup it is straight and the valves are seated before the engine is fired up.

After you cut your seats, drop the valve in and tap on it. If it clicks, it's not mated properly.

What do you think compared to the "Stone" method?

For the actual seating cut, a stone is awesome! I's pretty difficult using stones to cut multi angles on seats and have them all be the same from port to port.

What works well is to use the carbides for top and bottom cuts, then true up a stone and zing the 45 using a bounce spring.

People say stones are antiquated but they dam will spin a straight cut
