You may want to think about hydraulic for the safety reasons alone though..don't need a brake cable snapping mid ride, plus most of the newer brake set-ups are better all around.

Can't have enough stopping power!

Replied by flht1997 on topic thanks Matt.
there was a line in cycle world a few years back when Kevin Cameron was interveiwing a Superbike crew chief. Kevin asked why they ran a clutch cable when the street version had a hydraulic. the fella replied "because a cables don't leak"
they each have their pros and cons, however you may just have problems sorcing parts

I think you might have it, there. if I cannot find the part, then I will have to find an alternative.

Thanks again! I will keep you all up to date

Replied by beekay on topic What about a front brake from a kz400?
you guys got me thinking of a full conversion. so I hit ebay and started searching on slightly larger bikes in the kawasaki lineup.

i saw a few from kz400's and wanted to get an opion.
These seem nice and small, and a single versus a dual rotor system (less to replace).

Do any of you think this would/could fit?

thanks again for the options!

At least not the 1975 vintage front brake i got on ebay. the bolt pattern is smaller on the 440 than the 200. bummer. brake is in good condition, now I am selling it on ebay to look for another option.

Back to the drawing board...

anyone have a good used source for kawa parts?

I used these guys for a "new" used engine for a 70's Honda I rebuilt. I didn't see a 200cc Kaw but if you can find something else that fits they may have it.

Good luck.
