Use any old key or piece of metal that will fit in the slot. Most if not all the kz gas caps are not "keyed" per se. Keys for my shed pad locks, mailbox front door work just fine. Small flat blade screwdriver or similar also.

Gas caps were keyed from 1983 on.

You can remove the wafers inside the cylinder so that any key that fits inside will turn it. Or you can move the wafers around so that a couple of them will work with your ignition key.
Ive done it on gas caps as well as helmet locks.

Anything that I put in there it just kept spinning I am at my wits and and I cannot figure out how to get this thing open. I'm about to put a screwdriver in the top of it and pound it in with a hammer in about 5 minutes

Tap the hinge pin out and remove the whole cap. Then you can dismantle the lock and sort it out.

Early non tumbler key holes work that way on the gas cap.
The top half of the keyhole just spins.
You need to be able to reach in a 1/4 inch to the second/lower part of the keyhole, and turn that.
The Ignition key should do it, if it slides in.
Otherwise spray some lubricant in it to free up stuck parts.
