Thanks to the help of Nessism and other members I have successfully resurrected a KZ750-N1 Spectre after it collected dust since 2008. I spent the past month going through the carburetors, changing the oil, and getting the bike running. I swapped the aftermarket rectangle mirrors with OEM circle ones and wired up the turn signals. I have been riding it around and since getting it dialed in I can see why people love these bikes. This is my first motorcycle and I'm enjoying it so much. The only things I need to work on is dialing in the clutch adjustment and also getting the front brakes to feel stronger. I'm going to try the zip tie trick and see where that gets me. I'll attach a picture of the old bird. She's lovely

Great job!

Please be sure to check the "things to know" thread, and go down the list.  40 year old bikes need lots of maintenance before you cross everything off the list.  For example, your front brakes likely need a teardown and clean out.  New seals, brake lines, and pads, and they will perform like NEW.  Also, valve adjustment.  It's a pain in the ass with the 650/750's, because the cams must be removed, but it's mostly just a learning thing.  Once you do it a time or two, it's easy.

Thank you all!

I've been thinking about doing that valve adjustment, I know I will need to measure the clearances and obtain the proper shims. Perhaps Z1 industries has some?
