You should split the carbs.  The small rubber coated fuel Tee's are almost sure to be cracked and need replacing.
I agree ! it's almost a given they will leak.

Or will soon.  There's nothing worse than gas leaking on a hot engine, just below your crotch!

That's the plan, for now they're going on to see how it runs shifts etc. Connected battery today after my key came in the mail and all good, starter spins, spark at plugs all lights and horn work, pleasantly surprised.

If the tees between the carbs are still in good condition you can revive them by soaking them in gasoline overnight.  That will stop the leaks.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

Heat shrink may not survive long exposed to gasoline, especially when exposed to ethanol.

We 're aware of a process in which Teflon tape is wrapped around fuel tees to improve the seal.  We have seen carbs on which it was done perform for many years with no leaks.  Teflon appears to be quite resistant:to gasoline and ethanol:

I did this shrink tube trick in 2017, no leaks.

Seams either Teflon or shrink wrap the the carbs need to be unganged. At that point buy replacement tees or upgrade to aluminum or brass with ORings. Much cheaper/easier to change at the next rebuild.

Got it fired up! Fired almost instantly, cylinders 1 and 2 are fine 3 and 4 not so much, once past half throttle clears up and pulls strong. No air filters on it, pulled carbs and will blow out carbs 3-4 with compressed air. Pilots jets are clear. Cold ccp before starting was 125 each cylinder and all plugs getting good spark. What should I expect for head pipe temps using a IR gun?

The min./max. temp is irrelevant, all 4 cylinder/header temps should be equal as possible.

Found my spare heat shrink tubed fuel tees. Just in case if you want to give it a try and save some money.
