It may be silly, but I'm pretty excited to hear that the guy who I bought my 79 KZ1000 from 2 years ago, with urging from me and a few calls to the Wisconsin DMV, has made some progress for me in getting a replacement title.  He dug and dug and was able to find an old registration that had the original title number on it.  It sounds like the Wisconsin DMV can work with that, so my buddy sent in the paperwork for a replacement title.  That makes the bike much more valuable.....no matter if I keep it or sell it, the title will change everything.  OK, just had to share some excitement.....because the bonded title or Vermont title options both sound like a pain, frankly.

I am having to go through the "bonded title" process on a parts bike I bought a couple years ago.  At the time that I bought it, it was only going to be a parts bike so I wasn't worried about the lack of a title.  I confirmed it was not in the "stolen" database of VIN's, so I picked it up with only the last two bill of sales.  Fast forward to the present, and I decide to turn it into a running bike.  Nevada is requiring a bonded title, and has to stay on bond for 3 years.  During that 3 years the bike cannot be sold outside of the state of Nevada.  A pain for sure...

Yeah, I'm really hoping to avoid that process if possible....
