1982 Kawasaki KZ1000 LTD and CSR build

I could really use some help on this next subject.  I want to reuse my stock pistons all of which are well within factory service limit except for one that is damaged.  I need 1 OEM piston.  I haven't had any luck finding one as of yet.  See attached pictures.  Thanks in advance.
 

Wow, that is some head start you have got there. Some real nice work going on! as for the piston I’m sure there a few members on here that will have a spare piston, if not throw a shout out in the wanted section, that often helps, good luck from here in I’ll be keeping an eye on things with interest!

This isn't my first build.  I did a shadow bobber a few years back, some dirt bikes, that car.  This is the first time I've built a KZ.  I found such a good deal on the bikes that I couldn't pass it up.  I have a Kawasaki S2 also so the KZ will fit into the collection nicely.

Isn't that a '67 Skylark? My wife and I had one in the '80s.

You are very close.  It is a 1967 Buick Special that I have modified a bit.

I purchased it from a car dealer of all places for a very very low price in my opinion.  It was mostly restored already I just added the final touches.  Reliability was key to me.

WAIT A SECOND, I THOUGHT THIS WAS A KZ FORUM????

It has an actual Buick 455 big block which is pretty bad @55 in my opinion

TH200-4R transmission which has a very nice OD! (But I actually hate this transmission and want to replace it one day when I'm not building KZ's....)

I opted for installing a Holley Terminator fuel injection system so obviously along with that goes an entire new fuel delivery system which consists of a small, efficient, eco friendly 26 GALLON fuel tank!  (I really need gasoline prices to go down sooner than later : {

Earl's performance...everything...as far as fuel lines and fuel fittings go.

Eaton Posi with some 373's for the rear with all new axles, bearings, seals, so on.....basically bullet proof.

The stock brakes....sucked.  I replaced them with Wilwood 4 piston discs in all 4 corners.

and then I set this gigantic Granny tank on some Ride-Tech Shockwave air suspension...a few reinforcements and a sway bar here and there.  It's the ideal car to take to Walmart!!!! It will cost you about 10 gallons of fuel for the trip to Walmart, but who cares right?



 

The car looks like this when it isn't laid out.  It can't really be driven laid out because the tires will rub against....everything.

 

Anyway, way off topic.  So the LTD engine was basically glued back together by someone using RTV as said GLUE.  Add this fun factor to the countless stripped out holes, busted off studs and bolts equals a real good time for me!!!

 

SO NOW THE FUN PART!

Time to start reassembling the bike!  This is always my favorite part getting to work with like new parts.  Nice and clean, easy to work with...just a fun time!

I have all the parts back from my powder coater and vapor blaster so I can start reassembling the bike and really determine what look I am going for.  I had both frames done - the textured coated one is the LTD I originally purchased.  The gloss coated one is the CSR I purchased as a parts bike.  I'm definitely  going to use the textured LTD frame and swing arm.  All new All Balls Racing bearings for the bike.  The wheels are at a shop getting fresh tires mounted  as I type.  Next step is to rebuild one set of forks and assemble a rolling chassis.

I CANNOT FIND A STOCK PISTON FOR THE ENGINE AND IT'S KILLING ME!  I need a piston to re-assemble the engine.


 

Did you try EB for the pistons?

This one looks to be the same: item #223478794153.  There are a few others w the same part number (13001-1119).
The KZR EB function doesn't seem to be working.

EXCELLENT!  I bought that piston  Thank you so much.  I have been scouring eBay, and internet in general with no luck so thanks again!  That is the last piece I need to get the bike up and running.

EB searches:  KZ1000 piston 1981. or 13001-1119. or other part numbers. or other terms such as KZ1000 CSR piston. etc.

First thing I always do is check the diagrams at Partzilla, then search the full part number on EB.
Even if you're not looking to buy or the pricing is too high, NOS pics can be handy. 
If there are no search results by part number, then search by part name.
Then by alternate part name >> something like a timing advancer or side cover can be listed in various ways.
