Hey guys, I have not been on in a long time, but just wanted to get an opinion on how my project came out. I built this bobber from 2 bikes. I used the front half of a 79' KZ400 frame, fabricated a 6" stretched rigid back half, fabricated handle bars, fabricated complete 2 to 1 straight pipe exhaust, fabricated false oil tank for electronics under the seat along with alot of other custom fab work. Bought an 81' LTD 440 and used the engine, gauges, wheels, headlight bucket which I retro fit an LED jeep headlight into. Made custom 45° pipes to mount the pod filters. Jetting this bike in was quite the task with the straight pipes and pods, but got her dialed in and she runs like a champ. I love seeing other customs, so post up a pic of yours and leave some feedback on mine.

Not bad at all. The KZ440/440s are often forgotten about. It's cool to see one put to good use and honestly, no one is going to lament a Ltd going the hardtail route.
I bought a KZ400 to cafe but since it was a low mileage standard I kept it pretty stock and bought a $200 XS650 Special to cafe' instead.

Any bike that the owner likes is a good bike EXCEPT if running some idiotic open pipes which annoy the general population.  Hopefully my concern is not applicable.
