Hi all, not sure if I'm in the right place, but I was directed here from XS650
Yesterday I found a pair of titled 1984 Kawasaki GPZ 750s for a low low sum of $200.

Did the same kind of deal with my 1982 XS650, got it for $150 and made it work.

These two have definitely seen better days, first step is going to be well, seeing if the engines are free.
I'll post the occasional update and question here and there because as always this is a learning experience.

I give up. What's a 1984 Kawasaki KPZ 750? Ed

Pics aren't showing up. Finding cheap bikes seems like something I am incapable of. Good luck with the project(s).

Yeah I'm not sure that this forum works well on mobile. I've probably got to upload images and link them

After a few days of toiling I've managed to partially strip all of the delicates out of the carbs.
Fuel mix screws are jammed in, hopefully thats all okay though.

Stuck pilot screws in the carbs is NOT okay. You need to remove them and ungang the carbs to do a proper cleaning job.

In terms of how to remove them, use penetrating oil and heat. And make sure your screwdriver perfectly matches the slot in the screws. Grind a custom screwdriver for a tight fit if necessary. I'd soak the penetrating lube for a few days and apply heat using a torch. Heat and soak, heat and soak. After a few days try turning the screw both ways, eventually working it out. Don't force it or the slot will strip and you will be forced to cut a new slot with a dremel disc.
