Good Deal, I hope it's just that.

Wish I could remember half of what I've forgotten

Ready for the wind again.  She is running smooth again.  Thanks for the tips, guys.

I went for another ride yesterday.  A pleasant surprise - I made it back home under it's own power!!  Getting real tired of this trailer crap.  I expected to have to work a few gremlins out of this project once I got it running, considering what the condition was that I started with.  I get a lot of compliments where ever I go.

I went for another ride today, as the weather here in the valley was perfect.  Unfortunately, once the petcock was turned on, fuel was pouring out one of the overflow tubes.  I replaced one overflow tube during the rebuild since it was split, but the others passed inspection.  I suspect another old one has split.  So, the carbs come off again...  Old bikes are fun.  Old bikes are fun.  Old bikes are fun.  Sounds like the remaining three are being replaced as well.

I traded bikes and got the Green Monster up on the lift (I have two bikes builds going on).  Got a drain pan under her, turned on the petcock, and no leaks.  Now I am leaning toward a needle valve was just stuck open.  A split over flow tube would leak constantly.  I started the bike, it's running fine with no leaks.  I did not imaging that big puddle of fuel in my driveway.  I'm starting to wonder if this bike enjoys messing with my confidence at every turn?  A fuel leak like that would have bad consequences while riding.

I went for a 100 mile ride this morning!  This was the longest distance to date in one ride.  Everything is ironed out for the time being.  I kept it local for the first 30 minutes just in case something else popped up.  Then I threw caution to the wind and took off into the mountains.  I never pulled over, so no pics.  But Lake Tahoe is one lovely lady.  Getting the bike out in the twisties gave me the opportunity to get better acquainted with how this resto-mod handles.  I am happily surprised how stable the steering is!  Very neutral, stays where you point it.  Braking while leaning in a turn has no affect on the direction.  It doesn't try to lean more, or stand up while slowing.  The bike really feels like it's on rails.  Another 50 miles and I will change out the oil and filter.  The Delkevic stainless exhaust is turning a nice golden hue from the head downward.  It really compliments the gold rims!
