So I got myself an '81 KZ750 and decided to take it from all stock to chopping it righteously... Hard tail, springer you know the whole 9 yards and I hope to be driving it by my 60th birthday which is in October, yeah I know October in Alberta usually means snow but I can hope for the best. Here is how it looked when I bought it, thus far I've only removed the seats and shocks along with the goofy sissy bar ( I won't be needing one for the bike as I'm building it to be a solo ride.

Thanks Ed. Well I got the bike into the "tent" shed and am starting to break it down so I'll be able to hard tail it, I know you guys prefer them to be left stock or close to it but I love the rigid frame. Anyway I am wondering about the TC bros do it yourself kit anyone ever used it or should I go for a ready built hardtail section? I'm not in any hurry as my deadline to build has taken a slide to next spring as there are too many other projects around here to deal with :(

I just got my pods and brake pads this week and more parts are on the way... Hopefully I will soon be in a position to use them.

I got the engine out, along with the wiring harness today, I'd say it was productive.

My girlfriend wasn't taking me very serious until I had a pile of boxes of parts 4 ft high in the basement and a screaming mess on the back porch from buffing parts before the frame came back from powder coat. The one set back was coming back from Denver with my motor in the back, a Great Dain slammed into the side of my pickup, denting the door and bed with a dead chicken in his mouth (he was ok) and the owner said "It wasn't my dog" But I had PICTURES!! He lived 200 feet out of the city limits. Highway patrol and sheriffs department never showed, but my lawyer was happy to send a $200.00 letter. Open range laws in Colorado. 6 months later His grandma paid off, she owned a peach orchard and used her insurance.

Got some scrap metal to start making a jig to build the frame the way I want it.
