Ended up finding an Atlas vintage turn signal flasher relay on fleabay. Should be here in the next few days. Figured out that even though all the wiring is correctly ran, the brake light was reversed. I bought a large lot of random KZ parts 10 years ago, and have a few extra tail light sections, I mustve used one of those as the wires were reversed. My buddy Blake switched them and the brake/parking lights are working correctly now. Got another batch of parts from CMSNL, lots of grommits n such. I also found that overly priced rare fuel petcock strainer for 18$ (better than 50$ anyways). I am heading over the pond on tour for some gigs in a few weeks, so while Im doing that, the guys at the shop are gonna build the mufflers and get those cerakoted along with the headers. Gonna probably go with a dark gold to match the various gold parts and the gold stripe on the gastank. Should look pretty slick. I am still looking for a NOS windshield for the 77a1/78a2 deluxe, although Tim mentioned we could make our own. Ill be heading to the shop on Wednesday to do some odds and ends, been a few days, missing working on the bikes :)

Hello,

I wanted to give everyone a heads up regarding the pilot jet cap (fig 28 in the manual) Kawi part #16036015 - I ordered two different size caps from Z1 (Rubber Passage Plug - Honda SKU: 100-1319 and the bigger one Rubber Passage Plug SKU: 100-1325) Neither of these fit. Z1 noted that the first one I listed from the Honda is the smallest one they have. I tried to shave the sides down a bit to get it to fit, and ended up ruining it. Its close, but I feel it puts too much pressure on the Main Jet Plate since it does not sit all the way in.

If anyone else has any input on cross referenced Pilot Jet Caps for the early years 400s, I would greatly appreciate it. I need 8 of these. There are a few crooks on Ebay trying to get 30+ dollars a piece for these. I even reached out to one person and offered them 60 for 4 of them and they said no. With all due respect F that seller. Thanks in advance!

Hello all! So I think I have a minor problem with the LED bulb I used in place of the standard bulb for my rear brake light. I am getting a pulse on the tach on the stop light. Do any of you know if this is a common problem? I tried searching for the fix some of you have posted over the years, but couldnt find a proper thread about it. I need a resistor Im pretty sure. Anyone have a thread link to the process, placement and size resistor? Also, we replaced the headlight with a knock off daymaker. It had the same connection plug as the original. I dont seem to be having any problems with the headlight, but Im worried about a gremlin poppin its head up later down the road...Any input or links would be very helpful, thanks very much!
We are getting close to having this bike completed, worked on the exhaust and bodywork till late last night. Trying to get it ready for the blessing of the bikes in a week or so! Fingers crossed :)

Also, if I am using standard bulbs for the turn signals, then I do not need to upgrade the flasher relay, correct? I believe because I powdered the saddlebag framing, that I will need to scrape down to the bare metal to get the rear signals to ground properly, does that sound about right? Thanks!!!

Discouraged no one replied on the led/turn signal/rear brake light questions. Sadly, many of the old threads here have missing attachments, which renders many of the old threads useless.

My question is simply this, is there a work around for the blinking stop light on the tach when using a LED bulb for the rear brake light?

We installed a knock off daymaker LED on the headlight, and it seems to be working properly. Many of the old threads about LED headlights are from 2011ish and dont have attachments anymore. Can anyone verify with new or updated info if there are any issues/problems I could look for?

Its my understanding that if I wanted to use LED lights in the turn signals, then I must use a digital blinker. Although I do not plan to do this on the 75, I may do this on the 76.

Any information regarding my questions above would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance for any info :)

For turn signals, I think you can get away with an inline resistor like this as opposed to needing a digital relay: www.dimecitycycles.com/in-line-universal...llet-connectors.html
I run an LED taillight without issue so I'm afraid I can't help you there.

The remedy would be to put a resistor as an extra load in parallel. But then you are not saving any power so you might as well use a standard 1157 bulb.

Cars, even today, have the same problem. The can bus system detects bulb outages, but if the bulbs are replaced with cheap LED bulbs, the car reports them as being burned out.

To stop the flashing, you would unplug the brake failure warning unit, but then you will not get a warning for a burned out bulb. I'm not sure if the light would still come on steady when you use the brake (which is the normal indication).

To make a unit that can detect an LED bulb, and also flash when the bulb is out, without needing the extra resistor, would require making a new failure detection circuit.
