I have a 82 KZ550 LTD as well. I'm glad I found this thread because I'm doing a cafe conversion on it as well. I don't have anyone I know that can do fabrication like you do. My question is, are you using the 16in wheel in the rear and how did you fit the gsxr front end on the bike?

Next week my tank and gender will be painted so I will post some pics.

Yeah loud I'm gonna try to look up something on the digital side of the speedo. I know for sure its not gonna be cheap.

A fellow Floridian! Love the build so far!

Linked below are the Speedo and Tach I'm going to be putting on my build. My girlfriend is also purchasing these for the naked conversion she's doing on a 94 XJ650.

They look good and aren't too expensive.

Sorry I haven't been on in a while. Yeah it's the stock 16 in the back I just put a smaller fit tire to make the frame level with the gsxr front end on it. I have the mag 17 inch stock gsxr wheel on the front. I got my conversion stem from cognito moto and pressed it in. I'm gonna put spoked wheels on the bike down the road, for this I will buy the kz650 rear spoked wheel that will swap easy. I will buy the spoke hub from cognito Moto. In time. Also when I wielded the new rear on the frame it made it sit lower and that helped with leveling out with the gsxr front

This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for this thread. I'm doing a cafe build with the same bike and I'm pretty much using this as a reference. I hope you're prepared for a bunch of questions to be thrown your way.

Anyone know of a non mono shock swingarm that wouldn't be to difficult to swap to my kz550. I heard a katana would but what year? If anyone has any info please share.
