Appreciate the pics and the plans. This build is the rough out right now. All of this will be torn back apart and rebuilt to pretty up everything.

I recently returned from a vacation to Yoron island, the southern most island in the Amami Island chain. It is a very small rural island with only one major road....and two traffic lights and one of those is a blinking red light. While there my wife and I rented a scooter that we named Beelzebub. This little 100cc scooter was a blast but a far cry from the large displacement bikes I am used to riding. It did make me appreciate the fun that can be had on very narrow roads with livestock around every corner.

Nothing on this bike is in its final resting place. Most of this is tacked for sizing as everything on this bike is from something else, with the exception of the gooseneck and rear top engine cradle. Though the position clears everything, they will likely move before teardown and finalization.

The bike has been dismantled for final welding and cleanup. The frame weighs a total of 17lbs, the bike should weigh in at around 400lbs, not sure what is left of the original 120 hp but I imagine that this should be as fun as my Ducati Sport 1000 once completed.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at. Your picture shows the cradle frame missing the lower portion. Are you planning to use the engine as a stressed frame member similar to that of the Ducati? If so, you may want to consider that the Ducati has a strong trellis frame above the engine, and that the Kawasaki engine cases were not engineered to serve as a frame member. Ed

+1 on what 650ed said . Whats the plan?
Also, question about the seatpan. In the photos it looks like the front dips down and wraps around the frame tubes. Whats going on there?

Yes, I saw that at books.google.com/books?id=84hF-qoR5I8C&p...ame%20member&f=false .

However, I didn't see how the thing ended up being a complete motorcycle, and if it did, anything talking abut how well it worked or how long it lasted before the engine cases cracked. I can tell you from personal experience that a cracked engine case (BSA in my case) makes for a pretty bad day. Ed

i don't know if they ever completed it,ed.
but our favorite swedish mechanic Fritz W. Egli,
seemed very fond of using them as a semi stressed member.
