Thought I may as well start a thread with my progress.
I got this bike in a package deal with a lot of 7 other bikes. This one was a basket case
well after finding out some of the other bikes are going to be harder to get running (busted head bolt, and harley parts are expensive) I decided to resurrect the basket case that is the KZ750

Dont have a starter so I figured I could block the hole with an old chevy body mount some washers and 350 head bolt.

Waiting for my gasket kit valve seals and exhaust keepers. As soon as they arrive I will put the engine back together and document it. Possibly do a tutorial on the timing procedure. Checked my tranny and clutch plates and everything is doing as it should.. Now im jut scraping gaskets and prepping to put the engine back together probably dont need pics of that! haha. After the engine is together I will show a video of the first start up. And thats when I will see if my carbs need rebuilt. I took them apart and they appear t be very clean so Im going to leave them for now. only rebuild if i absolutely have to. I am also building up a kz305 cafe for my buddy and I will start a thread on that soon. Cheers and I will be back shortly!

Got the valves and springs in. Still waiting on this gasket kit and they just shipped it today. Sucks that the company that sells the gasket kit is such a terrible company to deal with. So, I am still waiting on gasket kits to finish anything up. In the meantime I am trying to find a gas tank and shocks to use.

Now after ruling that my coil is no good I am waiting on a coil to test fire the engine finally. I have tons of great compression when kick starting so I am confident it will run once I place a new coil in.
